Please, briefly describe the CBC activity you wanted to pursue

Revitalization of existing and partly constructed railroad tracks.

Results: feasibility studies are underway, concrete plans and budget decisions are being made.

Improvement of existing international rail connections (greater frequency, with more inter-city connections to accommodate the rail capacity), which includes the establishment of additional stops in the border region.

Results: Progress is being made; The establishment of rail connections in the border regions is a priority of the Dutch government with the close cooperation of neighboring countries.

Current work in progress include:

  • Improvement of accessibility of information regarding cross-border connections in railway-stations and on the internet both at the regional and national level.
  • The introduction of a dual system of cross-border ticketing as there are different electronic systems in each country with compensation of travelers for  travel at regional level.
