With regard to mutual recognition of professional qualifications of healthcare staff, Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications (Text with EEA relevance) is relevant and binding. In addition, last year saw the adoption of the Act recognising the professional qualifications of medical doctor, specialist doctor, doctor of dental medicine and dental medicine specialist (Uradni list RS (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia), no. 107/10 of 29 December 2010), which is applicable to persons who have obtained their professional qualification as a medical doctor, specialist doctor, doctor of dental medicine and dental medicine specialist in a country other than an EU or EEA Member State or the Swiss Confederation. |
