The establishment of cross-border cooperation agreements for humanitarian assistance in case of large natural or man made disasters at the regional level. Cooperation between border authorities is working well because all stakeholders have a common purpose, to improve the protection of a population in the case of a disaster and the alleviation of human suffering as a consequence of disaster.
Regular updating of contacts and the identification of responsible persons will result in a more efficient level of information exchange. Joint participation in training exercises, e.g. in the annual competition between young rescue teams from Slovakia and Hungary.
