Please, briefly describe the CBC activity you wanted to pursue The Police Force of the Slovak Republic cooperates with all of the EU / Schengen Member States in accordance with the legal acts and instruments to which the Slovak Republic is bound.

Police cooperation among the Schengen Member States is governed at EU/Schengen level by the Schengen Agreement, the Convention Implementing the Schengen Agreement, the Schengen Borders Code, the Manual on Cross-border Operations etc.

The Slovak Republic has concluded such agreements with all neighboring EU Member States and uses all the provisions on cross-border cooperation:

  • Exchange of information at central and regional level;
  • Cross-border surveillance;
  • Hot pursuit;
  • Police and customs cooperation centers;
  • Joint operations (joint patrols, support during major events, security of tourist sites, common traffic controls);
  • Joint investigation teams;

With the aim to prevent crime at the EU external border, a common approach and close cooperation of the police and customs authorities of EU Member States is applied, particularly cooperation of Slovakian, Polish and Hungarian  authorities with Ukraine.
