| Please, briefly describe the CBC activity you wanted to pursue | The Regional Government has developed a plan for joint activities between educational institutions of the Belgorod Oblast with those in the Ukrainian border regions. Municipal education authorities have also developed collaborative programs with neighboring Ukrainian regions. The implementation of this plan provides for joint workshops, scientific conferences, meetings with heads of educational institutions with tuition in Russian, as well as joint subject Olympiads, contests, festivals, days of poetry and poetic saloons, and literary festivals associated with knowledge of the world’s languages. Teachers from the border region from both countries take part in international scientific conferences, seminars, as well as in the annual international school conference “opening”. Leading universities in the Region – Belgorod State National Research University, Belgorod State Technological University named after Shukhov, Belgorod State Agricultural Academy, Belgorod University of Cooperation, Economy and Law – have signed agreements with institutions of higher education of Kharkov, Lugansk, and Sumy in the Ukraine in the educational, scientific and industrial fields and mass cultural work in the following areas of cooperation:- Invitation of leading professors to give lectures, tutorials of students’ graduation theses;- Participation of the leading professors in the universities and research institutes of the border regions with their corresponding collegues as department heads, members of editorial boards, etc. – Student participation in international student scientific conferences held in universities of border areas; – The participation of leading scientists, as well as doctoral and graduate students in international conferences, seminars, symposia held at universities of border areas; – The participation of leading scientists of universities in the border areas in science and dissertation councils; – Involvement of scientists of Russia and the Ukraine for the tutorial of doctorial theses; – Implementation of relevant to border areas joint environmental, social and economic research. |
