This CBC operation dealt with public trasport in the border region between Latvia and Estonia.
1. Current national legislation makes no distinction between international and cross-border public transport. Every public transport line that crosses border is automatically regarded as international transport despite differences between the two (for example international transport, intercity bus lines, operate on a commercial basis whereas local or regional lines crossing borders briefly are usually dependent on public subsidies).
2. Frequently information on public transportation is not available on the other side of the border.
Mobility can be enhanced by establishing tourist information centres in the border areas.
