What was the core OBSTACLE in undertaking the activity? The GNP-EGTC has two partners, Xunta de Galicia and CCDR-Norte. The GNP-EGTC is focused on Cross Border Cooperation for developing economic and social cohesion. Our main goal is to facilitate and encourage the territorial cooperation between all participants (public administrations, private institutions, and companies) in Galicia and North Portugal. The GNP-EGTC has three strategies of implementing Cross border cooperation:

  1. Matching a suitable Galician partner with a Portuguese participant seeking a collaboration, taking into account the project and initiative, the sector where it will be developed, the main objectives, etc.
  2. Matching a suitable North Portuguese partner with a Galician participant seeking a collaboration
  3. Promoting and developing our own initiatives to encourage Cross Border Cooperation in the Galicia-North Portugal Euroregion.

Examples of these strategies have been the twinning small cities in Galicia and North Portugal, as the first step to develop local Cross Border Cooperation. This initiative is designed to assist local administrations to find all of the benefits of Cross Border Cooperation that maybe are missed due to unawareness of available resources.

Which were the main CAUSES of the OBSTACLE? The lack of human and or economical resources in local administrations.
Which were the main EFFECTS of the OBSTACLE? Local administrations are hindered from benefiting fully from cross-border cooperation.
Please, describe briefly the factor(s) which mostly (3-4) aggravated the persistence of the Obstacle
