POCTEP – Programa de Cooperación Transfronteriza España-Portugal financed severals projects in the environmental field (Portugal – Spain)

• Investments in tourism, particularly on the high quality tourism “stone” (heritage built), gastronomic tourism, with an emphasis on environmental tourism, especially in the Parque Natural do Tejo Internacional;
• Biodiversity, bird watching, also in the Parque Natural do Tejo Internacional;
• The project Alqueva, Pegler;
• The project ALTERCEXA, in the sector of renewable energy;
• Projects developed by authorities in Alentejo, in coordination with the Andalusian region, which include conservation projects, land-use management, economic empowerment and navigation on the Guadiana River.
• There are some ongoing projects – the ANDALBAGUA (project related to the territory and its navigation in the Baixo Guadiana), the GUADITER (project on heritage, greenways and tourist promotion the routes of the Baixo Guadiana) and IBERLINX (environment projects to conservation the habitat of the Iberic lynx).
